Petroleum Economist welcomes nominations
We are delighted to invite nominations for the 2020 PE Awards. We have taken both the rapidly changing energy market and current challenging environment around the Covid-19 pandemic as cues to take a different approach this year.
Both the format of the nomination process and the awards themselves are changing. The criteria on which we are seeking winners has been distilled down to a much simpler set of bullet points. So those wishing to nominate—either themselves as individuals and their own companies, or on behalf of those that have stood out for them over the past 12 months—do not have to fill out arduous forms. They simply need to submit, using as much or as little collateral as they prefer, why they best fit the criteria.
This year’s awards will be a two-step process. PE editorial’s team will review nominations—as well as their own take on the stand-out successes across the industry—and whittle these down to a shortlist for each award. These shortlists will then be put to a vote of the worldwide PE audience. So, every winner will have the satisfaction of knowing that their award is recognition by their peers.
Perhaps the most radical change is that awards are broken down into four categories. We have PE awards that span the energy industry in its entirety. Winners related to hydrocarbons will be recognised under the Petroleum Economist banner. And we have awards under our two new brands that are launching in the fourth quarter of this year: Transition Economist and Hydrogen Economist.
You can reach out to our editorial team on email@example.com with any questions or comments you may have on the new PE Awards.
We enjoy nothing more than meeting our community, offering its broad spectrum an opportunity to connect and network, saluting worthy winners and sharing their justifiable pride. One change we would have preferred not to make is that there will be no ceremony this year, either in-person or virtually. However, the PE commercial team have crafted a number of tailored packages so that short-listed nominees and winners can extract maximum value out of the prestige surrounding the awards. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
And we remain just as excited as ever about this year’s awards: they combine both our engagement with the energy industry since 1934 and a response to the rapidly evolving business environment; they represent both a continuity in the face of adversity and innovation to changed circumstances; winners can celebrate their success in conjunction with familiar, trusted brands that represent the best of what our industry has done and will continue to do, or with new ones that showcase its commitment to contributing positively to a bright future. Finally, we wish all nominees good luck!
